Mariano Fuga at the Boutique Hotel Zum Rosenbaum

The natural way in which the different figures by the artist Mariano Fuga from Vicenza blend into the ambience of the Boutique Hotel Zum Rosenbaum in South Tyrol invites us to imagine them lifting themselves up the direction of the heavens from Gargnano, with their arms outstretched in front of their bodies and their mouths open wide, as if combining their voices to a collective “forward!”, in order, eventually, to land gently by chance here in Nals between real and painted rose gardens, thus metaphorically expressing the concept of “sowing art”.

Insights into his works

As if in a kind of play, the individual sculptures put on mini-dramas and transform the exhibition into a thoroughly harmonious total artwork. One of the most noteworthy achievements of Fuga is that he has broadened the meaning of body language by, for example, giving arms reaching up towards the heavens a new, happy significance. Until now this gesture was always considered to be an expression of despair.
